Singhdarbar Ko Tender is a social political Satire. It deals with the well known issue of widespread corruption in Nepal. In this play the fictional character Sarkar orders chief engineer Thapa to build Singhdarbar. According to the government’s order the construction of Singhdarbar should be started in 7 days. However, Thapa delays the work by giving various reasons and never builds it.
The play portrays the corrupted system of governmental offices as well as anti corruption authorities. Throughout the play many characters like Leaders Hiralal and Bidrohi Nepal, Anti Corruption Authority staff Hemu, Pollution Control Board Staff Sharma create problems only for their benefit.
It also portrays the failed process of making the constitution by assembly members in a symbolic way. It also depicts the dominating and crass behaviour of political leaders towards the public and bad governance of Nepal. The play is directed by Dillip Rananhat. Bholaraj Sapkota, Sangeet Sapkota, Sujan Oli and other actors have shown their outstanding commitment towards the play.
