Indo-Nepal Theatre Festival 2014

Theatre Village Nepal organized Indo-Nepal  International Theatre festival in February 2014, The festival showcased many plays, cultural activities, discussion sessions, seminars and many more. The festival was inaugurated with the Hum Hi Aapne Aap, directed by Bipin Kumar. The play  inspired by Padma Sachdeva’s  Hindi novel, ‘Ab Na Banegi Dehari’, scripted by Asif Ali Haider Khan ,on February22 2014.
Kalo Sunakhari,  A non-verbal play was staged as a closing play for the festival. It was designed and directed by Abhilash Pillai and dramatized by Hasta Chettri. Inspired by Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi’s novel, ‘Sonam’, and features barely any dialogues, in what NSD is presenting as an experimental ‘non-verbal’ play. Charumati was written by Shree Satya Mohan Joshi and was designed/ directed by Bimal Subedi.

A not-for-profit organization based in Kathmandu, Theatre Village Nepal aims to redefine the world of Nepali theatre. It has been doing so by exploring theatre, and its history while also working on ways to improve art aesthetics from the root of Nepali culture to the digital world, being inclusive.
