On 26th March 2017, Theatre Village Nepal performed the culturally adapted version of the world’s most acclaimed play ‘Hamlet’ by Shakespeare in NAPA International Theatre Festival, 2017 in Karachi, Pakistan. In the festival that lasted from 16th March to 2nd April, Theatre Village represented Nepal with the play directed by the British director Gregory Thompson which Bimal Subedi was the associate director of. The festival was rich with the performances from Germany, Pakistan, Nepal, England, Palestine, Italy, USA, in which the performance from Nepal was highly appreciated by the renowned personalities and other audience from all the performing countries. The performance of the main protagonist Hamlet, played by Dilip Ranabhat, was so much adored that dozens of people were lined up to meet and talk to him. Apart from Dilip Ranabhat, Shrawan Rana, Ram Prashad Bashyal, Rupesh Subedi, Bijay Tmrakar, Samundra Raj Ghimire, Renuka Karki, other actors namely Sajan Kumar Sunuwar, Dipesh Rai, Zenny Sunuwar made their debut in international theatre festivals. For Nawaraj Parajuli,it was his debut performance in theatre.
