The Confession(Sabiti) in India

The Confession(Sabiti), India

  • The confession(Sabiti) South Asian University, Delhi (19  April, 2019)
  • The confession (Sabiti), Nutan International Theatre Festival, Jammu (10 Feb, 2020)

The confession focuses on a woman's voice and how she confronts society. The action starts with the liberty that a woman craves from the moment she is born to the moment she dies. The confession is one that a woman seeks out and speaks the truth about from the moment she enters her mother's womb to the womb of her own body that she makes room for. Would her womb produce a woman once more, making her child go through the same pain she endured, or would it produce a man, making her woman go through pain once more?
The play is all about a story of a woman who fights against society’s every spectrum of life. She has complaints about every ism, religion, and governing structure in all facets of life. The piece merely poses the straightforward query, "What is freedom? What does freedom mean in relation to your life? Taking inspiration from the short novel Sabit by Jagadish Ghimire, the play is written by Bimal Subedi and Suraj Subedi. The play is a performance by Anuradha Majumder and designed and directed by Bimal Subedi.
